Helping My Grandparents
When I was a kid, few things made me happier than hanging out at my grandparents’ house. But as I got older, those visits started to look a little different. What began as “Can you help me change this lightbulb?” quickly turned into a growing to-do list—because let’s face it, having a willing teenager around was a pretty good deal.
Even though I was doing chores, I loved it. We’d laugh, catch up, and knock out a bunch of tasks that gave them peace of mind—and kept them from climbing ladders or lifting anything they shouldn’t.
Looking back, those visits were more than just helpful—they were about keeping my grandparents safe, comfortable, and confident in their home. That spirit is exactly why I started PropertyOps: to help aging homeowners stay in the homes they love, take the stress out of upkeep, and promote aging with dignity—with a healthy dose of empathy and human connection.
The Evolution Of PropertyOps
The concept began in 2012 at Temple University, when founder Thomas Readinger explored the evolving lifestyle and financial needs of the maturing U.S. population in his capstone entrepreneurship class. Originally launched as First Contact Property Solutions, the idea evolved into PropertyOps—a company committed to protecting homeowners and their most valuable asset: their home.
